Metro Bus Collision Involving Moped Rider, Hospitalized
LAFD responded to an entrapment rescue at 6:40PM at the intersection of 7th & Maple in Downtown Los Angeles. Upon arriving they found a man trapped under the metro bus as a result of a 2-vehicle collision.
LAFD heavy rescue teams were dispatched to attempt to extricate the patient from under the bus, LAFD was able to free the patient without the need of the additional resources.
LAPD advised that the individual is conscious and breathing, and was transported to a nearby hospital but no more information on the patient condition is available.
Witnesses on-scene stated privately that the collision took place in the intersection and the metro bus appeared to drag the patient an additional 50-100ft before coming to a stop.
LAPD Central and Metro supervisors are on-scene investigating the circumstances of the accident.
